Town of Sheboygan Sam's Club slated for 2017
A delayed plan to build a Sam’s Club in the Town of Sheboygan is moving forward, with company officials saying they plan to begin construction in 2017 and open that same year.
Delia Garcia, a spokeswoman for Sam’s Club, announced the new timeline Friday, Feb. 5, and said they’ll have more specific dates once they’re further into the planning process.
The 137,000-square-foot store, which the company says will create about 175 new jobs, will be built at the former Menard’s self-storage facility near Interstate 43 and county Highway J and will include a members'-only fueling station.
Sam’s Club has also proposed creating two retail out-lot sites on the property.
“We are excited to offer our current and future members with a convenient new Sam’s Club right here in Sheboygan,” said Kelvin Buncum, regional vice president for the Sam’s Club Great Lakes Region, in a news release. “This new location will help meet the needs of individuals and small business owners in this growing business community, and we are eager to continue our work with the town to bring the benefits of Sam’s Club to Sheboygan.”
