SHEBOYGAN, WI — The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay aim to provide a wide variety of services, resources, and expertise to help encourage entrepreneurial opportunities in Sheboygan County, including businesses that offer unique services and experiences to the community.

With the assistance of the SCEDC and SBDC, Lisa Salgado started Boho Posh Picnics, a new picnic rental service that provides a unique dining experience to Sheboygan, WI. Luxury picnics are popular in major cities across the country and the mission of Boho Posh Picnics is to offer this service locally in Sheboygan. Salgado founded the business with the goal of using luxury picnic settings to create memorable moments for others.

“Sheboygan is such a beautiful area and I wanted to really highlight our parks and beachfront,” said Salgado. “It is the perfect way to enjoy a sunrise or sunset in Sheboygan.” The picnics are currently offered at three locations— Evergreen Park, Deland Park Beach, and Blue Harbor Beach (South Beach).

When you rent a picnic from Boho Posh Picnics, they curate your choice picnic setting and wait for you to arrive. Customers can choose from three different Picnic Palette options— Seaside Escape, Romantic Rose, or Falling for Fall. The rentals provide the picnic setting for customers to bring their favorite food and drink— delivery is also a great option to support local restaurants.

“Let us know if you would like a certain song playing upon arrival or a special message on the letter board,” says Salgado. “Once you arrive, we leave so you can enjoy your picnic. Our luxury picnics are a wonderful surprise for loved ones! They are perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, brunch, date nights, and more.”

In the future, Boho Posh Picnics is looking to expand and offer new picnic palette options, locations and party-sizes.

“I had the opportunity to work with Ray York at the SCEDC,” said Salgado. “I was fortunate that they offer free services for starting a business, recruiting employees and growing a business. Ray was very friendly and great to work with—he walked me through the process of which paperwork needs to be filed with the State of WI, launching strategies, contacts and ways of how I could get started. He was there for any questions that I had. I am thankful that Sheboygan supports small businesses.”
