Business Idea Workshop and Student Business Idea Contest held at UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus, Thursday, Nov. 8

Green Bay, WI – As part of Sheboygan’s Startup Wisconsin Week, UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus will be hosting a Business Idea Workshop and Student Business Idea Contest on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Wombat Room.

The Business Idea Workshop begins at 4:30 p.m. and is open to the community. In less than half an hour, learn how to structure a business idea into a communicative format. There will also be the opportunity to pitch your business idea, and you could be awarded up to $100 in cash for pitching an idea. 

The first UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus Student Business Idea contest will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sheboygan Campus students can apply to the contest by sending an email to KauthR@uwgb.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. Students will be instructed on how to create a YouTube link of a draft of their 90-second business idea pitch by 11:59 p.m. onMonday, Nov. 5, 2018.

Sheboygan Campus students chosen to be contestants in the pitch contest will earn an automatic $50 if they pitch. Contestants will pitch their business idea to judges who will award up to $500 for first prize, $250 for second prize and $100 for third prize.

Sheboygan Campus students who pitch are also eligible for the following:

  • A partial scholarship to a six-credit travel course at the European Innovation Academy in Portugal or Italy or the Asia Pacific Innovation Academy in China for Summer 2019. 
  • The chance to represent UW-Green Bay at The Pitch on Thursday, Apr, 11, 2019 at Titletown Tech in Green Bay.
  • The chance to represent UW-Green Bay at the Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament in April 2019 in Madison.
    in Minneapolis in April 2019 and the chance to apply to represent UW-Green Bay at e-Fest in Minneapolis in April 2019.
