Sheboygan County, WI – A key mission of the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) is to provide opportunities to Sheboygan County entrepreneurs and help them make informed business decisions.   The SCEDC has partnered with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay to bring the Entrepreneurship Training Program (ETP) to the entrepreneurs of Sheboygan County.

Whether your business is just starting up or in the growth phase, writing a business plan is critical to building a profitable venture, and is especially important when attracting financing from lenders or investors.

Shawna Silberzahn of Whisk in Sheboygan says the SBDC ETP worked wonders in helping her develop a business plan for Whisk.

“I went into the ETP class with the goal of expanding my successful in-home business, but had no idea where to start,” Silberzahn said. “That was September 2018, and I opened my store front to the public in May of 2019. The class was incredibly helpful in determining the feasibility of your idea, and then the specific steps to pull together a cohesive action plan. I am overwhelmed with the support that Sheboygan County offers for small businesses.”

The ETP provides eight efficient sessions to help you develop a plan for a thriving, profitable business. In this program, you will learn to identify customers, determine their needs and formulate that information into a feasible plan for starting or growing your business.

Upon completion of the course, SCEDC’s Business Development Department and the SBDC will work with ETP candidates to develop successful funding strategies to advance the business plan.

Sheboygan County entrepreneurs should consider taking the upcoming ETP opportunity starting September 12th at the Sheboygan Campus of UW-Green bay.  Classes are on Thursday evenings starting at 5:00pm and include a total of eight classes.  To register, follow link to the SBDC or call/email (920) 496-2117 or sbdc@uwgb.edu.
