Sheboygan County, WI – Aiming to bring an authentic New York Italian-style deli experience to the Sheboygan area, the newly opened Arrosto Delicatessen is well positioned to fill a unique niche in the local restaurant scene.

With the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay playing a key role in the launch of Arrosto Delicatessen, co-owners Paul David and Amanda Weber are ready to take on the challenge of introducing a distinctly East Coast-themed deli to Sheboygan County food connoisseurs.

“I was born and raised in New York and grew up in the lower Hudson Valley region,” David said. “Amanda was born and raised in Sheboygan Falls. She moved to New York to attend the Culinary Institute of America and we met after graduation. We then moved to Sheboygan Falls in February 2015.”

Weber and David are well-equipped with the skills and experience needed to launch a successful new restaurant.  Weber has been in the culinary field since she was 13 and has held every position from dishwasher to general manager.  David has worked in food service and retail for 20 years, holding several supervisor positions including running a deli in Cross River, New York.  He has worked at Johnsonville Sausage since moving to Wisconsin.

David and Weber’s common love of food and passion for entrepreneurship culminated in their plan to open Arrosto Delicatessen.  “Both of us are food lovers and love to try new and different things,” David said. “We also love to share our great food experiences with our family and friends, and in my case, anyone who will listen. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and have always wanted to open something, but never could put the idea and location together.”

“Missing some of our favorites from New York, we realized that what this area needed was a New York Italian-style deli,” David said. “Once we found a workable location, we moved forward and opened Arrosto Delicatessen on June 15th.”

David is quick to credit SCEDC/SBDC Business Counselor Ray York with providing assistance in getting Arrosto Delicatessen off the ground.

“Ray was very helpful in the initial stages of our planning by ensuring we were covering all of our bases,” David said. “He also was a great help in putting our financials together to look presentable for our business plan.”

Specializing in paninis with fresh and made in-house ingredients, Arrosto Delicatessen, and staff, strives to go the extra mile in providing the ultimate New York Italian-style deli experience.  Arrosto is located at 1418 North 13th St. in Sheboygan and is open six days a week Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We offer customizable sandwiches that are panini-pressed and made with fresh-roasted meats and unique toppings,” David said. “The fresh quality ingredients in our sandwiches are available to anyone who wants a quick, delicious meal. Our goal moving forward is to grow the business and continue to serve Sheboygan with fantastic food.”
