Over 50 employers expected for Lakeshore Military-Focused Job Fair

Sheboygan County, WI – A military-focused hiring event will take place on Thursday, August 22 at Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, located at 7001 Gass Lake Road in Manitowoc, WI from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 

This military hiring event aims to give military veterans, guardsmen, reservists and family members an opportunity to meet employers with job opportunities in many different fields including administration, hospitality, customer service, manufacturing, sales and marketing.  Diversity in the workforce is encouraged and the event is open to all job seekers

Over 50 firms and hundreds of available careers for all skill levels and experience backgrounds will be featured at the job fair will include, but not limited to:

  • Financial Advisors | One Wisconsin Financial Group
  • Personal Bankers | Investors Community Bank
  • Universal and Associate Bankers | Wisconsin Bank and Trust
  • Skilled maintenance and Setup Technicians | Bemis Manufacturing
  • Line leaders and skilled maintenance | Old Wisconsin
  • CDL drivers and dispatchers | Rockline Industries
  • Buyer/Purchasing and field construction supervisor | Orion Energy Systems

A shuttle will run from the Sheboygan Job Center to the event for those with limited transportation in the Sheboygan-area. Those wishing to take the shuttle are encouraged to call the Sheboygan County Job Center at 920-208-5808 for details. According to SomeplaceBetter.org the Sheboygan County area has over 3,000 open positions.

Media Event & Coverage Welcomed

Media is invited to a media event on Wednesday, August 21at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, located at 7001 Gass Lake Road in Manitowoc, WI at 11:00 AM.  During this time, over 60 human resource professionals will be learning best practices to attract, engage and retain America’s heroes.

Media will be allowed to briefly cover the training. Several Sheboygan-Area SHRM members will be made available to be interviewed about the importance of hiring national heroes as well as expectations for the follow day’s job fair.

Media is also welcome at the August 22nd job fair from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to cover the proceedings live.
