SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — The Wisconsin Internet of Things Council (WIoT) will host a special event and tour of Gateway Technical College’s SC Johnson Integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology (iMET) Center on Tuesday August 31, 2021.

The iMET center was expanded in 2013 and is the region's first flexible manufacturing training center. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. at 2320 Renaissance Blvd in Sturtevant, WI 53177 and will be held in partnership with Gateway Technical College. It will feature presentations from Gateway’s Lead Programmer David Aguirre and from a corporate Gateway Technical College partner. A tour of the iMet center will follow the presentations.

The WIoT is thrilled to highlight Gateway's Learning and Innovation Center, as well as their programming and hands-on learning approach that brings much needed and well-prepared graduates to the local workforce.

The event is free but limited to 50 people due to COVID-19 restrictions on the Gateway Technical College campus. Those interested should register as soon as possible to ensure a spot. Currently, the event is exclusively available to members of the WIoT Council.

Organizations can register here to join the WIoT and gain access to exclusive events such as this as well as networking opportunities that connect Wisconsin’s innovative companies to one another and drive Wisconsin’s IoT initiatives forward.

The WIoT Council is a professional membership driven organization that advocates for Wisconsin and the Midwest as the epicenter for IoT by providing the WIoT and its members with a forum and environment conducive for purposeful networking, relationship building, talent attraction and development and mutual exchange of information relative to the Internet of Things.

For more information on the event or to register visit the WIoT website or contact WIoT Project Coordinator Sala Sander at sala@wisconsiniot.org.
