Downtown Housing Overview
The City of Sheboygan and SCEDC recognize the need for market-rate apartments in Downtown Sheboygan. Many young professionals and empty-nesters would like to reside within walking distance of the waterfront and riverfront, art centers, restaurants and pubs, and special events in Downtown Sheboygan.
In 2014 the SCEDC completed a multi-family housing study indicating the area has a 0.4% market-rate apartment vacancy rate, with only 13 available units. Click here to read the executive summary. In addition, a condo study was performed indicating a need for 162 units.
